JackRabbits program is full for the 2021/2022 season.

The JackRabbit program is designed for the “FUNdamentals” stage of skill development and is suitable for children 5-10 years of age. The objective is for children to learn basic cross-country ski skills and to instill a lifelong interest in the sport, thereby enhancing their quality of life and health.

***Due to COVID-19 and the need for physical distancing, coaches are unable to physically help young skiers to stand up, travel uphill, etc. For this reason, an adult with ski experience will be required to attend lessons with new skiers until they are able to get up on their own.

The JackRabbit program runs each Sunday afternoon from 2:00pm – 3:30pm, from as early as mid-December through the first weekend in March, snow conditions permitting.

Registration for the JackRabbit program is completed online. There are a limited number of JackRabbit spaces, so please register early to avoid disappointment. Registration before December 1st provides the program organizers with adequate time to complete their preparations so the program gets off to a clean start when the trails are ready. Children will not be able to participate without advance registration.

2020/2021 JackRabbit Rates:

** A supplemental fee of $20 per skier is payable to our parent organizations – Southern Ontario District, Cross Country Ontario and Cross Country Canada. These fees are payable only once per skier, regardless of which programs/membership they are registered for. These fees support the development of cross country skiing in Ontario and Canada as well as providing liability insurance coverage for activities approved by Cross Country Ski de Fond Canada. Also included in the fee are required payments for insurance and ski organization fees.
